Self image is the perception we have of our self.
And because we have both positive and negative characteristics, how we feel often dictates the way we see ourselves.
And when we are feeling low especially at a time when we need to be our most confident, it can be very difficult to lift ourselves up.
When things are going wrong we struggle to see our positive attributes.
Seeing the good within us, our strengths, capabilities, the self worth and what we are deserving of can sometimes seem like something which is not within our grasp.
This can be detrimental to our self integrity, when we doubt the positive qualities we possess we fail to see our self worth, this can then allow us to open up to and accept criticisms from ourselves and others and judge ourselves accordingly.
We may take on unnecessary stress and feel incompetent completing the most menial tasks.
It can be difficult trying to recognise our full potential, voicing them aloud may seem pointless and even listening to compliments from others can fail to boost our self confidence.
When it is hard to do that we should try to (rhetorically) question our capabilities rather than phrase them in a statement.
For example instead of saying “I organise events really well!” you should ask yourself “Why am I so good at organising events?”
When we are faced with a question, we can’t help but look for the answers, and if we questions our strengths and attributes the answers we seek are the affirmations we have of ourselves.
So not only will the questions highlight your qualities, the answers to them show you why you are worthy of the compliment and the amazing qualities you retain is the only confidence you need.
