Sometimes it’s not easy to see the bright side of being quarantined for countless days.
It can be hard to see the positive of being away from loved ones, unable to hold those dear to us, and facing a loss can be devastating to say the least.
Even though we know the “why” behind the lock down, the “how” sometimes does not make it any easier.
And we can end up with a ‘why bother’ attitude to anything productive.
Staying at home and having no where to go can makes us question every action of the day, why should I wake up early? Why should I get ready? Why should I stop snacking? Why should I keep active? Etc.
This can result in us forgetting the fact that even if we end up in an out of control situation, even if our plans end up in shambles no matter how meticulous we were with it; we were, are and will always be in control of ourselves.
Our mindset, will power and determination might be influenced by many factors but at the end of the day it is up to us to decide HOW we embrace ourselves.
Our work plays a major role in how we identify ourselves and staying at home after a while can result in feeling a little lost with yourself.
Having our usual routines disrupted can make us feel like we don’t know what we are doing nor what we need to do to regain momentum and sanity in our lives.
Being isolated or being (what can sometimes feel like ‘trapped’) with children 24/7 can make us feel like we don’t really know who we are anymore.
And because nothing is normal and what everyone is going through has not been okay.
This is all normal, and it is okay.
Being at home means we have been presented with an opportunity to rediscover ourselves.
We can explore the things we have never had the time for but have had always wanted to do.
And this could be anything; painting, knitting, cooking, sewing, singing, dancing, the list really is endless.
That is because whether we want to or not we will need to get back up from this, so isn’t it better to start getting up from now?
Isn’t it better to to regain ourselves and and work on getting better and stronger so that when we have to face changes we can start to feel prepared?
Because let’s face it no one is actually prepared for what life may bring, but what differentiates between those who can and those who cannot face what is to come is the attitude and mindset they have.
Many successes and breakthroughs have been discovered under times of great stress and duress.
And the only way to improve our mindset and strengthen our determination and will power is to spend time on ourselves doing what we love, and experimenting and exploring our talents and skill set.
We have many sides to us and in order for us understand ourselves and see ourselves as whole beings we need to explore our likes and dislikes, our passions our talents and our creativity.
And then you ask?
Well…then you dive right in.
You put yourself knee deep in whatever you want to do and enjoy the moment, don’t worry about whether or not you fail or succeed just soak up the experience.
Remember life is not about the destination but the journey you have, so make it the most beautiful and memorable one you can.
Reflect. Love. Heal.
